Let’s get that NOSE examined and diagnosed!
I have sinusitis.
Acute Sinusitis: The Basics
Acute sinusitis is when the sinuses in your face get swollen and blocked, usually after a cold or a runny nose. Mucus builds up, dripping, dripping, or blocked nose—-making your nose stuffy and your face feel sore or puffy—especially around your eyes or forehead.
You might also get a headache or facial pressure or discomfort in your sinuses.
Most cases clear up in about a week, but if it drags on or gets worse, it could be a bacterial infection. If symptoms last more than 12 weeks, it’s considered chronic sinusitis.
Chronic Sinusitis = at least 12 weeks.
Chronic Sinusitis: What to Know
Chronic sinusitis is when your sinuses stay swollen and blocked for 12 weeks or more—even with treatment.
It can make your nose feel constantly stuffy, breathing tough, and cause discomfort, pressure or pain around your eyes and cheeks. Sinuses all uncomfortable.
It’s often caused by long-term inflammation, infections, nasal polyps (small growths), or allergies. You might hear doctors call it “chronic rhinosinusitis.” It affects both kids and adults, and it can really wear you down if not managed properly.
Doctor:
"Let’s talk a bit about your symptoms so I can get a clearer picture.”
"I’m going to ask you a few questions to better understand your symptoms.
Just answer yes or no, or feel free to explain more if needed."
